The Loss Prevention Group, Inc. ("LPG"), a Diamond Certified Company, provides training services for security professionals. LPG is approved by the California EDD and on the State's Eligible Training Program List (ETPL). Funding for our courses and packages may be available for those who qualify. Review our Financial Aid page for more information.

We offer the following Training Courses and Packages: 

Initial Security Guard Card Training Course - $80 (Prepay Price $70) 
This one day eight (8) course consists of Power to Arrest & Weapons of Mass Destruction/Terrorism Awareness training, and meets the State's training requirements for the Guard Card. We are the only training facility in the Bay Area that offers the Guard Card Training Class, Live Scan fingerprinting, and online submission of the Security Guard Application - all onsite and on the same day!

Pepper Spray and Handcuffing Training Course - *$80 (Prepay Price $70) 
This eight (8) hour certification course provides the required training needed prior to carrying OC/Pepper Spray while on duty and also includes certification in the proper application of handcuffs in different situations. This course is open to the public (a Guard Card is not needed to attend).

CPR/AED & First Aid Training Courses - $60 - $100
Students will practice essential skills and will apply those skills in scenario-based practices. The adult, child and infant CPR/AED course is a (3) hour certification course. The Basic First Aid course is also a (3) hour certification course. We also offer blended Online CPR/AED and First Aid Training Courses. Certification is good for (2) years. Materials included (Student Guide, Wallet Skills Guide & Completion Card).

Courses comply with the Department of Consumer Affairs' Skills Training Course for Security Guards (AB 2880). In addition to the 8 hour Guard Card Training Course, every newly licensed security guard must complete 32 hours of additional training. Sixteen (16) hours must be completed within 30 days from the day the registration is issued, or within 30 days of starting employment. The remaining 16 hours must be completed within the first 6 months from the day the registration is issued, or within 6 months of starting employment. Also, eight (8) hours of continuing education is required every year after the first.

We are conveniently located one block from the 19th Street BART Station in downtown Oakland, California.

We are a licensed security company (PPO #15592) by the Department of Consumer Affairs' and Bureau of Security and Investigative Services (BSIS) in the State of California and our Instructors are Certified. Our classroom is in a professional setting to ensure your comfort and concentration during your endeavor.
